Amethyst meadow squill
The pretty amethyst meadow squill. Up to 40 tiny flat star-shaped, amethyst blue flowers per flower spike reaching just 15cm tall.
Flowers much later than other squills. A good accompaniment to late tulips or early alliums.
Light: full sun, partial shade
Soil: well-drained sand, clay, loam, chalk
Bulb size: top size
Care: plant in autumn at a depth of about 7cm. Plant in well drained soil, will form clumps which can be lifted in autumn and replanted.
