Low growing with bright white flowers
Pretty, starry white flowers in late spring held over narrow strappy leaves which lay on the ground allowing the flowers to stand proud. One of the Star of Bethlehem flowers, can flower for quite some time between late April until the weather really warms up.
At Poppy Cottage we have it as a starry footnote under deciduous shrubs.
Light: full sun
Care: Plant in a sheltered position in autumn, 10cm deep and use a dry mulch over winter such as shredded bark. O. umbellatum, like O. dubium, is relatively hardy but does not like excessive wet.
