An old favourite, late and fragrant
An old favourite daffodil with a lovely spicy fragrance, some say prettier than modern varieties.
Height: 40 – 45cm
Month: late April
Light:full sun to partial shade
Soil:sand, clay, loam, chalk
Type:Division 9 Poeticus daffodils
The Poecticus daffodils are usually late to flower but Actaea is a little earlier than the others. Pure white petals with a small yellow cup edged with red.
Excellent for naturalising, if left undisturbed this daffodil should thrive for years. These are large bulbs at 12cm or more.
Care: plant in autumn at a depth of one and a half to two time the diameter of the bulb. Add grit to heavy or wet soils.
