Iris histrioides ‘Katharine’s Gold’

Pale gold early flowers

SKU: BIRI KAG Category:

Ivory, creamy petals with the lower brushed with yellow. Few deep blue-green flecks and a yellow blotch on the falls. A very special iris, new in 2017. A sport of ‘Katharine Hodgkin’.

Height: 15cm
Light: full sun
Soil: well drained sand, clay, loam, chalk, moderately fertile
Bulb size:5/6cm

A long flowered iris that can be planted at the front of the border, en masse or in a pot where its fragrance can be savoured. If planting in a pot, sprinkle fine gravel or course grit on the surface to prevent the flowers form being splashed with soil.

Care: plant 5cm deep in autumn, keep moist when growing and drier when dormant. Add grit to wet or heavy soils.

**please note we are selling these at a reduced price as these are coming from a supplier which we do not trust 100% to provide the correct varieties. Last year we did have issues with some bulbs that were not the right colour. Unfortunately it does not mean they have dropped their prices to compensate! But we are taking on the difference ourselves as we have not been able to obtain these elsewhere.
