Camassia leichtlinii Sacajawea
White flowers and variegated leaves
A white form of the tall camassia with a broad white edge to the leaves.
Light: full sun, partial shade
Soil: well drained, moisture retentive, damp in spring
Bulb size top size
With alliums and hardy geraniums, camassia provide useful colour in late spring/early summer between spring bulbs and summer herbaceous plants and shrubs.
Care: plant in autumn at 15cm deep in moisture-retentive soil. Camassia like being damp in spring when growing but can suffer dry soils when dormant. Add grit to heavy or really wet soils.
