A huge thank you to all our customers this autumn. The last of our sale orders should be winging they way on to their new homes today. Leaving us with the next task of potting up leftovers for sale in the spring and sweeping out the bulb shed!
It has been a tough year – the wet, cold spring followed by no rain played havoc with the production of this year’s autumn-planted bulbs, and the summer drought caused havoc in the garden. We found it hard to obtain decent spring bulbs at reasonable prices, although we were happy with our new supplier.
In the garden we’ve had to re-seed our lawns as the grass actually died in patches. We’ve lost a couple of large shrubs, one to the Beast from the East and one to the summer drought.
But we did have a lovely autumn with some fantastic colours in the garden. Now the clean up begins, lots of trees and shrubs to trim back and borders to mulch. We’ve probably planted nearly 1000 new spring bulbs this year and can’t wait to see what they look like in 2019!
We wish you all a quiet (weather-wise!) winter and a happy Christmas. See you next year!
